I understand your book tangle. I'm reading Belladonna, listening to new moon myself in one pace and with you at another and I want to read the host, wishsong and dark wraith...

poo.
If only I was a compartmentalizer. Oh, and I didn't have to sleep.
wouldn't it be grand?

Nice :D Thank you for posting these scans. I love the picture of Edward and Bella. They look so content. I need to read prince caspian too but there is just no time right now :( :(

I have sooooo many books to read too. I've never had your book-a-day ability though so this is normal for me. :/ I wish you speedy reading!

The scans look lovely, thank you for doing that! I stole Sus's newspaper so I could have the hard copy of them and she is stealing her mom's. It's a whole cycle of Twilight-inspired thievery.

I was so excited when I saw the size of the Edward and Bella photo in the newspaper. I was worried that it would be too big for the scanner. I am glad you and others like it.
I was wondering if I'm too old to cut them out and put them on my bedroom wall. I really need to get my hands on more of them so the wall won't look so empty.

I can imagien. I wish I could have the magazine :( I am going to see if I can find it at all here but I doubt it.

Where are you? It's from the LA Times Sunday Edition. I think that goes nationally.
I so want to put the Bella/Edward large pic up at my desk at work. I am supposed to be 30, right? OH WELL.
Oh very far. I'm from Sweden :)
Hah! I'm inclined to say not too old 'cause that means it's okay for me to do it too. ;) I like the idea of a Twilight-papered wall. Mmmm.
I'll make a pretty desktop for you sometime this week.
Oh well that is entirely a different thing. If I knew where to get you one now, I totally would.

Wow!

Okay so the rest of my post didn't show up, I'll try again:

I said 'WOW' because I was jealous of how much you get to read!

Then I thanked you for the Twilight pictures because they are awesome!

And then I said I think Twilight will recover that 60$ in the first weekend! I will be very surprised if it isn't successful

Thanks. I don't get to read as much as I like anymore. I seem to either have a life or have a reading habit. The two don't coincide though.

I hope you are right about the movie grossing. I've done the math and that is what scares me. 600,000 need to fill the seats to make budget. That and the film won't get full run in theaters. It will probably only open to 3,000 - 4,000 theaters. Knowing the demographic of the audience that means that it won't be shown in as many markets as would need to pull in the numbers like other films.
Whoah wait a minute. WHY do you think it's only opening in 3,000 theaters??? I feel like with the internet buzz it's generating they'll give it an opening like any other movie... I HOPE!!! I mean the movie is everywhere, all over MTV.com, /film, firstshowing.net, all the thousands of Twilight fan sites.... I really HOPE they give it an opening it deserves. I will be pretty p.o.'ed if they don't!! :- {
Iron Man is the biggest movie out right now and it's only out in 4,000 theaters. But Twilight won't reach that demographic. I don't think that the internet buzz is really a fair estimation of what it will do. Many people will not choose to see it in the theaters but will wait for it to be on DVD. They really need to double the production budget to be considered a success. To warrant the cost of the sequels. It has to sell to people outside of the internet to really make the numbers.
Huh I didn't realize Iron Man was only in 4,000 theaters.... So I guess I don't know how many theaters is a 'normal' opening? I hope a lot of fans of the book series will be curious enough to go see it... then I'm banking on the younger ones who find the actors 'hot' to go and see it multiple times... and maybe drag their boyfriends along. I'm certainly dragging my husband... and I plan on seeing it more than once (which I haven't done since high school)... I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up that it will do really well, but I just think there's so much excitement about the movie that it will have to pay off... (I hope, I hope, I hope ;-)
If we can get men to go and see it in droves, maybe appeal to them using KStew as lure, then we would have a better chance at reeling them in. Or if the fickle teenage mind does do return trips. If everyone that bought the book saw the movie 8 times we would be able to make it. But not everyone who has read them has had a rabid reaction to them. And 12-15 year olds don't drive and few have expendable cash to see the film repeatedly. I'm trying to be realistic while hoping for the most optimistic of outcomes. We need the men though.
Nah. Titanic did well... don't underestimate the power of women. ;-)
If I get my hands on another copy, I might be able to send you one.
This isn't Titanic. And after the first week men were seeing Titanic.
It's all in the marketing. Who sees what previews will make this movie.

I don't expect this to be another Titanic, of course... just stating that sometimes movies that mostly appeal to women do very well...There's the fact that we drag men along with us to the theater, as well as other things... In Titanic's case, I'd say a lot of it had to do with Kate Winslet's painting scene :-) Maybe Twilight will draw guys for other reasons after word of mouth gets out... like the action scenes or the fact that a lot of them seem to like Kristen S. I'm glad to be reminded to be realistic about its chances, but I'm still hopeful... It seems like so many are excited for the movie.. I agree, Dcrean, that marketing will have a TON to do with it.. for the non-Twilight fans at the very least :-)

Don't mistake my arguments for pessimism. I am hopeful that it will do well. I think that it has a lot to offer. I was just part of the Browncoats fandom and it taught me that support isn't always enough to pull things through. Serenity should have done a lot better in the theater than it did. People showed up but it didn't get marketed the way it should have been and it tanked. It's hard not to be more realistic about things after seeing something beloved fail so unequivocably. It opened my eyes to the numbers and markets. I hope that Twilight is handled much better.

I hope the moive lives up to the book it would really let me down i it didnt

and I love twlight
